I am very excited today to bring to you a guest blog from Emily Walsh, a proactive, passionate writer who believes we should be using alternative methods to help heal cancer sufferers. You can find more of her blogs here: http://em-musings.blogspot.com/
"The Path to Enlightened Healing Cancer. The world itself has been rated as one of the most negative in the English language, and the sound of the word can bring pangs of sadness to anyone who has been in the struggle or has witnessed a loved one battling the disease. Many of the aggressive forms of cancer such as mesothelioma have very grim prognoses and the mesothelioma life expectancy is low. Traditional medicines can go a long way in fighting the progression of the various forms of cancer, but they are not the only options. Surgery and chemotherapy are the two most popular procedures and often help to set the sufferer on the correct path of healing. Doctors often recommend certain diets and exercise. Two often-neglected options, though, are sound and Reiki healing. When used with traditional methods of healing, these two techniques can help alleviate some of the side effects and symptoms experienced as a result of harsh treatments. Sound therapy is the scientifically tested method of using sonic vibrations to promote wellness in the human system. The use of music or singing as therapy can keep the patient's mind positive and active. Many sufferers fall into depression when they have cancer and must be treated by the often-painful processes of standard medicine, and sound therapy is a very effective, viable option to assist in meditation and other stress-reducing practices. This therapy is also extremely accessible to patients in various circumstances since sound is pain free and requires very little time. There is plenty more information that can be read at the following link. http://www.soundhealingcenter.com/explore.html Reiki healing is a powerful tool against any ailment, but should only be practiced by someone who has been certified. In this instance, a well-meaning person could cause more harm than good if they did not know exactly what they were doing. Reiki can be used on the cancer itself, the mind and spirit of the patient, the doctors to ensure they have the energy to do the procedures that are requested of them and even the family of the patient. Everyone can use a little strength during hard times and Reiki healing can provide that anchor. Reiki is such a powerful option that it can be performed from a distance. If the patient has been certified as Reiki level one or two, they can perform Reiki healing on their own body. Any additional help in the fight against aggressive cells helps immensely." Of course, a dose of Sound healing would also be extremely beneficial & combine that with Sound therapy & Reiki & you have a very powerful combination.

This weekend I wended my way over to Bedford (M4, M25 & then M1 round trip) where I stayed with my fellow sound healer & friend, Kanti Freeman. Sat morning we awoke to a slighly cloudy day but were optimistic about the day ahead & what a wonderful day we had! We sang on the sanskrit note of 'Sah' & used our hands to focus the sound & interact with out own voices. Beautiful to sing all together in a group. One of my many loves!
We connected to the land, learnt how to heal the body & 'let go' with the help of our Gaia, our Mother Earth by lying face down in a field & then the power of the earth can heal all your chakra points. We 'walked the land'. A technique where a group of people walk in single file, following each others footprints. You look where you are walking all the time until the person at the front stops & then you can take in the breathtaking scenery around you & really appreciate what you are seeing. A raw food lunch which was very satisfying then led to more connecting to nature & this time we focused on an animal or tree very intently & asked a question for our own highest good & we were given our answers without prejudice. A fire ceremony Sat evening led to more singing & offerings to the Mother. Sunday we made a map of our own area. Where you live, including nature areas & water sources & were asked to focus on your land. Where would you like to go out to & sing? We learned to body dowse & followed a lay line through a field & then we were asked to pick a song to call in Spirit with the help of nature as our inspiration. What a beautiful weekend! So much learnt & it's given me a real incentive to go back out to the woods to get inspired to write something creative & magical! Watch this space! So whilst away, the whole weekend, I had spiders everywhere (!) so decided to look it up on the web. How true for me at the moment! "Spiders gifts include - creativity and weavers of fate, balance between past and future, physical and spirit, male and female. Spider is ...strength and gentleness combined, they awaken creative sensibilities, they are the keepers of the primordial alphabet and can teach you how to write creatively. Their bodies are shaped like the number 8 and they have 8 legs, symbolising infinite possibilities of creation. The 8 legs represent the 4 winds of change and the 4 directions of the medicine wheel." Basically, I can be as amazing a person as I want to be. The key is not to limit yourself with boundaries & then, oh, the possibilities! |
